Research and Development District

Architect: Gensler
Contractor: Turner Construction
The Details

The Research and Development District (RaDD) is downtown San Diego’s newest life science mixed-use development. Sitting on eight acres and occupying six city blocks, San Diego’s Research and Development District will represent the largest urban commercial waterfront site along California’s Pacific coast. The $1.6 billion lab-and-office complex will consist of 1.4 million square feet of development spread across five buildings of varying heights, and include a ground-floor retail district with a public paseo that travels the length of the property.

CMF, Inc. was chosen by Turner to provide the architectural metal requirements on three of the most beautiful buildings on the site. Project finish is slated for January 2024.
