Wilshire Temple

Architect: Levin & Associates
Contractor: Matt Construction
The Details

CMF was chosen in 2011 for the historic restoration of sheet metal and copper dome components, which were in a bad state of repair due to deferred maintenance. The extremely complex and demanding work on the 1929 original temple included removing and replacing worn copper roofing panels, batten covers, soldered copper disks and waterproofing on the dome. The company also installed new standing seam copper roofing around the building perimeter and performed restorative interior work throughout the temple. The overall project to restore Wilshire Boulevard Temple earned a Conservancy Preservation Award in 2014.
